Simplifying direct deposit

Published on

Project summary

As part of our ongoing push towards digital adoption by our provider audience, Delta Dental sought to create an online tool that would allow dental offices to enroll in direct deposit quickly and easily, as well as manage their enrollment through the same tool.

My involvement

I was closely involved with most aspects of this business-critical project's content design and development. I worked closely with the UX designers, researchers, legal department, and business stakeholders/SMEs to create a signup experience that was as straightforward and simple as possible. Our ultimate goal was to encourage providers to enroll online instead of using the slower paper mail option.

I developed and audited all content across all 3 of our separate lines of business. This included headlines, body content, CTAs, buttons, form fields, modals, error messages, and other microcopy.

In addition to my work on the product itself, I also strategized and created web content for our public-facing enterprise website to promote and educate on the new online direct deposit signup tool.

Finally, I wrote a series of emails to be sent to the user in a variety of scenarios -- such as a request to discontinue enrollment or a request for additional information. While I do not normally write emails, doing so in the case of this project ensured a seamless experience end-to-end for the user.

The result

The launch of this product resulted in a self-service tool that providers could use to quickly and easily sign up for direct deposit -- thus simplifying their payments. This has resulted in a better user experience and less paper processing on our end.
